Peter Sugar

Mr.Sugar is a senior securities and corporate lawyer with Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, Professional Corporation's specialty business transactions group. An expert in securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance, Mr. Sugar has directed or team-directed a complete range of financing and change of ownership transactions including mergers, acquisitions, business sales, dispositions, exchange offers, refinancings, pipes, private debt, mezzanine and equity placements, recapitalization buy-ins and buy-outs, LBO's, project financings and public offerings.
Mr. Sugar received an undergraduate degree in business administration, with a major in accounting, from Wayne State University in Detroit. He received his law degree (cum laude) from Wayne State University Law School. Mr. Sugar served as a member of the Council and as Program Chairman of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He has been an active member of the Federal Regulation of Securities and State Regulation of Securities Committees of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. He currently teaches graduate courses in Corporate Finance and Business Planning and has taught courses in Securities Regulation and Agency and Partnerships as Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University and the University of Detroit law schools. Mr. Sugar is a frequent lecturer on business and finance to professional and business groups.
